Garment Sourcing practices - simplified process
This description of a simplified process of the sourcing practices in the garment industry simply aims at providing:
- A quick panorama to new comers to the garment industry, and
- Some reference terms and basic process skeleton for a common understanding between partners coming from different cultural backgrounds and between different types of actors of the supply chain.
RESPECT Survey Sheds Light on Purchasing Habits
The RESPECT team conducted a preliminary online survey to validate the usefulness of the RESPECT approach.
The survey has been answered by 25 buyers and 30 suppliers from various sectors throughout Asia, Central America, the Middle East and Bulgaria.
The RESPECT project
RESPECT is a 2-year project co-financed by the European Union Leonardo da Vinci program on Vocational Education and Training, since October 2011. It is lead by the Fair Labor Association (FLA) and a coalition of several European partners representing corporate social responsibility experts, vocational training specialists, suppliers, and civil society organizations.
